RAK restaurant fined for food safety violations
RAS AL KHAIMAH // A restaurant has been fined after health inspectors found it was serving food that had been cooked the day before.
Khalifa Maktoum, head of public health at RAK Municipality, said the inspectors found that the restaurant would keep unsold food in the fridge, then heat it up to serve to customers.
Mr Maktoum added that the restaurant owner said he was not aware it was illegal to serve food in this way.
Al Ittihad, the sister newspaper of The National, also reported that the inspectors fined three coffee shops for hygiene violations.
